The first round of the NSW IRB (Inflatable Rescue Boat) Premiership series kicks off this weekend 4-5 May at Mollymook in the Shoalhaven. Shoalhaven City Council has begun preparations for a mechanical entrance intervention at Lake Tabourie.   The Tabourie Lake level has risen to 1.16m AHD which is 1cm below the trigger level of 1.17m AHD.   Machinery will commence digging an entrance channel on Monday morning.  This will continue Tuesday.  At this stage, Council plans to remove the final ‘plug’ in the channel following the high tide on Tuesday.   If the predicted swell and tide heights a...

The success of the 2012 Special Olympics States Games in Shoalhaven City is set to be replicated this weekend when it hosts around 400 athletes in the 2013 States games featuring four sports – football, tennis, golf and ten pin bowling.   The games represent an opportunity for the Special Olympics athletes to secure qualification to the 2014 National Games in Melbourne.   There will be two special events to help launch the 2013 State Games.   Shoalhaven City Council Ma...
