With the warmer weather rapidly approaching Council has recently received many enquiries about the entrance opening of Lake Conjola over the holiday period.Council’s current position for Lake Conjola states that in pre-holiday times (such as before Christmas) the lake level needs to reach and stabilise at a ‘trigger level’ of 0.8m AHD (Australian Height Datum) before a mechanical opening can be conducted.The Lake is currently at a level of 0.6m AHD which is 0.2m (20cm) below the required trigger...

Shoalhaven City Council received a commendation in the Public Engagement and Community Planning Category at the Planning Institute of Australia’s NSW Division Planning Excellence Awards held in Sydney last week.The award was received following Council’s exhaustive draft Shoalhaven LEP 2009 consultative process that took place during 2011 and included a 13 week exhibition period. Shoalhaven City Council will again be hosting the annual household chemical CleanOut on Saturday 24 November in Ulladulla and on Sunday 25 November in Nowra.The CleanOut event allows residents the opportunity to safely dispose of unwanted or out of date household chemicals.Residents will also be offered the opportunity to properly dispose of a range of other hazardous household waste including gas cylinders, batteries, paint and fluorescent tubes.Council will provide two drop off sites for this ...

Upgrade works to the Princes Highway at South Nowra have resulted in increased levels of traffic using the currently unsealed Parma Road, Falls Creek as motorists attempt to bypass much of the ongoing congestion.   Residents in Parma Road have expressed concerns to Council that the increased volume of traffic experienced along this stretch as a result of the adjacent road works has resulted in increasingly dusty conditions throughout the area.   As such, Council made an application...
