Council introduces chemical free weed control
Shoalhaven City Council has introduced the use of a saturated steam weed control machine, allowing their Weed Biosecurity Unit to control weeds that would normally be treated with herbicides.   Shoalhaven City Council Mayor Amanda Findley said that the technology had been embraced by a number of inner-city Sydney Councils as an alternative means of managing weedy vegetation in an urban environment.  “Shoalhaven City Council have embraced this new technology and it show...

Shoalhaven City Council has taken out top honours for their knowledge sharing at the inaugural national Cities Power Partnership Summit Awards. Shoalhaven Council staff coordinated the South East NSW Council’s Buddy Group, joining forces with Bega Valley, Eurobodalla, Wingecarribee and Kiama Councils.  The Knowledge Sharing Award recognised the Buddy Group as being an active regional network to share ideas and learn from others working on similar issues relating to climate disrupti...

Shoalhaven Libraries celebrate Grandparents Day
Shoalhaven Libraries Nowra invites local grandparents and seniors to celebrate NSW Grandparents Day on Thursday, 25th October 2018 at 10 am. The Library will be hosting a storytelling event ‘The Stories that I loved”, an opportunity for grandparents to share their favourite childhood stories.  What is a Yellow edge line?
Shoalhaven City Council has progressively rolled out the use of unbroken yellow edge lines on the side of roads in the Shoalhaven that represent “No Stopping” zones. Continuous Yellow edge line marking on roads show a NO STOPPING zone. All road rules relating to NO STOPPING zones apply to this area regardless of if NO STOPPING signs are in place. Nowra CBD Historical Walk
Shoalhaven City Council has recently been awarded a “Heritage Activation Grant” for the Nowra CBD Historical Walk. The project was initiated by the Nowra CBD Revitalisation Committee who approached the Shoalhaven Historical Society with a proposal and funding to revamp the existing Nowra CBD Historical Walk with plaques and interpretive signage. Huskisson Church Debate at Council's Extra Ordinary Meeting on Tuesday
Council will debate the  Holy Trinity Church at Huskisson at the next Extra Ordinary Meeting on Tuesday, 16 October 2018. The meeting will be held at Nowra Administration Building and commences at the end of the Strategy and Assets Committee Meeting which commences at 5 pm. Shoalhaven City Council will be streaming live video and audio of both Strategy and Assets Meeting and Extraordinary Meeting on Council’s website www.shoalhaven.nsw.gov.au from 5 pm.
Lake Conjola water quality given the all clear
Shoalhaven City Council ​is advising the community that water quality in Lake Conjola is healthy and the closing of the entrance is a natural occurrence.  Shoalhaven Mayor Amanda Findley said Council monitors rainfall and lake levels daily by computer software and staff conduct a water quality audit weekly. Corroboration at the Shoalhaven Regional Gallery, Nowra
Shoalhaven City Council is celebrating the launch of Corroboration, at Shoalhaven Regional Gallery Saturday 13 October, 12 pm – 2 pm.
