Community Invited to Learn About Proposed Special Rate Variation
Shoalhaven City Council is inviting the community to find out about and provide comment on the proposed Special Rate Variation. Council is proposing to apply to the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal for a continuation of the 13.2% rate increase that was applied to ratepayers this year. The previous increase was only approved to be implemented for a one-year period and Council is seeking for this increase to remain in place for the future. Lake Conjola Entrance Voted Best Holiday Park in the South Coast

Council Appoints New Director of Assets and Works

Shoalhaven City Council has announced the appointment of a new Director of Assets and Works, Paul Keech. 

Council’s General Manager Russ Pigg said, “We are excited to welcome Paul back to the Shoalhaven. Paul is well known within the Shoalhaven having worked for Council for thirteen years from 1991-2004 in the roles of Pavement Engineer, Construction Engineer and Construction Manager.”

Paul brings a wealth of experience and local knowledge to the Director position.  After working at Shoalhaven City Council, he sought career opportunities at three other Councils where he advanced to Director positions including:

·         Director Engineering Services, Narrabri Council - Nov 2004 - Jan 2011

·         Director Engineering Services, Moree Plains Shire - Jan 2011 - Aug 2011

·         Director Engineering Services, Gladstone Regional Council - Aug 2011 to present.

Paul was involved in the Local Government Engineers Association as President State and Federal Branch 2009-11; currently represents local government nationally on the AUSTROADS Pavement Technical Review committee; and received the Institute of Public Works Engineering Australasia Queensland 2016 Queensland Engineer of the Year Award.

With a passion for the area and community engagement, Paul brings to the Shoalhaven excellent technical qualifications, experience and leadership skills.

Shoalhaven City Council welcomes Paul back to the City where he will commence in the role on 20 November 2017.

Rockfield Park” Development Application refused by the Land and Environment Court

Roads Funding Success

Council supports National Indigenous Football Championships
Shoalhaven City Council has agreed to support the National Indigenous Football Championships to be held later this year with in kind and financial support.
