Shoalhaven City Council Mayor, Joanna Gash has welcomed the announcement of an offshore artificial reef to be installed off Shoalhaven Heads.NSW Primary Industries Minister Katrina Hodgkinson has today announced plans for the creation of a reef 30 metres offshore to allow easy access from the entrance to the Shoalhaven River.Depending on the dimensions of the final design, between 20 and 40 concrete cubes, weighing as much as 17 tonnes each, will be used to create the reef which is expected to s...

Shoalhaven City Council has engaged Fisheries NSW to undertake sampling at a number of local beaches over the coming weeks.Residents have been advised that researchers from Fisheries NSW will be sieving sand to identify and quantify the animals (pipis, worms etc) that naturally inhabit the beaches at Collingwood Beach, Callala Beach, Callala Bay and Currarong as part of an environmental baseline survey.The sampling is being undertaken in order to determine the structure of beach ecology in the a...

Shoalhaven City Council has placed the Draft Nowra CBD Building Height and Floor Space Ratio Study on public exhibition until Friday 16 August.Council engaged a specialist consultant to undertake an independent urban Floor Space Ratio (FSR) study over the area of the proposed Commercial Core and Mixed Use zones in the Nowra CBD.
