General Manager appoints Director of Corporate and Community

Shoalhaven City Council General Manager, Russ Pigg has today announced the appointment of Craig Milburn as Director of Corporate and Community.

Mr Milburn has recently been employed as Director Corporate Business at Coffs Harbour City Council, a position he has held since 2008.

Through this role Mr Milburn was responsible for a wide variant of functions including Finance, Human Resources, Tourism and Corporate Administration while he also oversaw the creation of both the Coffs Harbour Airport Terminal Masterplan and Council IT Strategy.

Having worked extensively in Local Government, Mr Milburn has also spent time in the private sector having owned and operated his own plumbing business and held a number of roles as a community worker.

Mr Pigg said he was pleased to be welcoming Mr Milburn to Shoalhaven City Council saying he looked forward to working alongside him as part of the organisation’s new Executive Leadership team.

“Craig has demonstrated an ability to work at a high level within Local Government” said Mr Pigg.

“With a wealth of experience in Local Government, Craig will be looked upon to provide new and exciting ideas for organisational improvements during this current transformation process.

“I would like to officially welcome Craig to Council’s Executive Leadership team and look forward to working with him in delivering improved levels of customer service and community engagement through the current period of organisational change.”

Mr Milburn said he was looking forward to beginning in his new role with Council saying he believed the position would provide a number of exciting challenges and opportunities.

“I am particularly looking forward to being part of the team that is leading the transformation project for the Council and City,” said Mr Milburn.

“I believe that my skills and experience will bring new ideas and a different way of viewing things to the organisation while building on the skills and knowledge of the staff that are already there.

“Shoalhaven City has great potential to keep growing and I would like to be a part of that growth and future.”
