March 27, 2013
Shoalhaven City Council is calling on local residents to become involved in the Shoalhaven’s creative future by making comment on the draft Shoalhaven Arts Centre Strategic Plan 2020, which is currently on public exhibition.
As part of the exhibition process, Council will be hosting a public forum on Thursday 4 April at the Nowra Administration Building from 5.30pm to answer questions and receive further feedback on the draft document.
The draft Shoalhaven Arts Centre Strategic Plan 2020 provides a vision of future artistic growth in the area and a framework for building on the success of the Gallery
The Plan also aims to further develop the Shoalhaven City Arts Centre as the creative hub for the entire region.
Mayor, Joanna Gash said that with the Shoalhaven being home to such a rich and diverse range of artists it was important that a wide range of local residents took the opportunity to make comment.
“Shoalhaven City Council is looking to build on the amazing base of artistic talent and endeavour within the Shoalhaven to ensure the area remains a leading regional cultural hub,” said Clr Gash.
“Another key aspect of the Shoalhaven Arts Centre Strategic Plan 2020 is to ensure the Arts Centre continues to both grow with the community and cater to the area’s growing needs moving forward.
“I would certainly encourage all local residents with an interest in the arts to not only review the draft Shoalhaven Arts Centre Strategic Plan 2020 but make comment and attend the upcoming public forum.”
