Council offering free ‘storm related’ green waste tipping
February 26, 2013
Shoalhaven City Council is offering residents the opportunity to dispose of green waste brought down by the recent storms free of charge at any of the area’s waste disposal depots.
Residents will be able to dispose of green waste free of charge until close of business Sunday 10 March.
Shoalhaven City Council Mayor, Joanna Gash said she was encouraging local residents affected by the storms to take advantage of this offer.
“Given the large amount of damage and garden debris caused by the recent storms, Council is hoping to assist the community in cleaning up,” said Clr Gash.
“In doing so, Council will be offering free disposal of storm related green waste at all waste depots over the ensuing fortnight.
“It is important to note that Council’s free offer will only apply to green waste that has been created as a result of the recent high winds the area has experienced.”
“Also, the waste depots will be operating on their normal business hours so I would suggest residents confirm the opening hours of the individual facilities before making the trip.”
