“It is always extremely disheartening to see a young man taken away in the prime of his life, especially in such tragic circumstances,” said Clr Gash.
“I would like to pass my sincere condolences on to both the family and friends of the man who was unfortunately killed as a result of this morning’s boating accident.
“As a community it is imperative we rally around one another in this time of mourning by providing ongoing support and comfort for those that need it most.”
“While it is still too early to tell what happened, I certainly encourage all local residents and holiday makers to remain careful while on the water over the summer period.”
“With so many people taking advantage of the area’s beautiful natural assets the likelihood of a horrific accident of this nature unfortunately increases.”
