Shoalhaven City Libraries to host award winning children’s author

Shoalhaven City Libraries will host award winning children’s author, Libby Hathorn as she talks about her celebrated writing career at the Nowra Library from 5.30pm this Friday 25 January.

The author of over 50 books for children and young people, Mrs Hathorn is best known for her award winning novel, Thurnderwith and picture book, Way Home.

Shoalhaven City Council Mayor, Joanna Gash encouraged local residents to attend Friday’s author talk describing the event as a rare opportunity to converse with one of Australia’s most talented and prolific children’s writers.

“An extremely talented writer, Libby Hathorn has left an indelible mark on the Australian literary scene,” said Clr Gash.

“Having received numerous awards for her works, Mrs Hathorn has also had a number of her works turned into Emmy nominated movies and Operas.

“I would certainly encourage local residents to take advantage of this opportunity to listen to one of Australia’s most successful and popular children’s writers.”

Mrs Hathorn will also be appearing at the Nowra Showground Australia Day Activities on Saturday 26 January as part of her role as Australia Day Ambassador.
