Community Grants Program open for nominations
July 13, 2011
Shoalhaven City Council is currently calling on nominations for the Community Grants Program, a scheme designed to help local associations build vibrant, safe and active local communities.
The program aims to build diverse and connected communities through the promotion of community based projects.
Shoalhaven City Council Mayor, Paul Green called on local associations to nominate for the program saying the scheme was designed to encourage a supportive approach to innovative community programs.
“These grants will make a fantastic difference to a community through the implementation of a number of community based projects or schemes,” said Clr Green.
“The grants could be placed towards a small event or on a program that brings further value to one the area’s towns and villages.
“I would encourage any local association that is looking to build social equity and address community needs within their local area to apply for funding under the 2011 Community Grants program.”
Applications under the 2011 Community Grants program must include the following:
• A completed application form, ensuring that all details have been provided.
• The organisation's latest audited financial statement, or where an organisation is not subject to audit requirements, a statement of income and expenditure over the past 12 months must be provided.
• A copy of the organisation's most recent Annual Report.
• A copy of the organisation's constitution or Statement of Aims and Objectives if a new applicant, or where these details have changed since a previous application
Grants of up to $2,000 are available to all associations and community groups within Shoalhaven City.
Organisations looking to make an application are asked to visit the Council homepage, www.shoalhaven.nsw.gov.au, download the application and funding guidelines, and submit an application.
