July 08, 2011
Shoalhaven City Council Mayor, Paul Green officially opened the recently completed $2.7m extensions to the Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre last night.
Providing a more practical formal dining and entertainment area, the new Gallery Function Room features a separate bar area, additional male/female toilets and extended foyer floor space.
“The addition of the Gallery Function Room will bring with it a host of future commercial opportunities for the Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre,” said Clr Green.
“The new area can seat 150 people in a formal dining setting and 250 people in a standing cocktail scenario making it the perfect place for weddings, 21st birthday celebrations and a host of other functions.
“The Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre already provides a fantastic asset for the community hosting theatre, music, corporate functions and various other local events.”
“The opening of the new Gallery Function Centre will help attract conferences, corporate meetings, sporting functions and other social functions to the area.”
Clr Green said the Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre was currently celebrating its third birthday.
“Since it opened on 5 July 2008 there have been nearly 160,000 people attending functions, conferences, shows or other activities held at the centre,” said Clr Green.
“During the same period, over 100,000 tickets have been sold through the Box Office for events featured at the Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre, making it safe to say that the people of the Shoalhaven have embraced their entertainment centre with open arms.”
