Request for Proposals - Development Opportunities Nowra CBD
March 30, 2012
Shoalhaven City Council is seeking investment in the Nowra CBD for a number of its key sites.
Mayor Paul Green stated, “We see this as the next logical step in the growth of Nowra and this is a wonderful opportunity for an innovative developer to come up with a concept that will really capture the essence of Nowra”
The Shoalhaven is one of the state’s prime tourist destinations, located an hour south of Wollongong, where its population of 95,000 people swells to 300,000 in the peak summer time.
Presently 13 Council owned sites have been identified for potential re-development, including seven sites which could be consolidated to create a 20,000sqm area that currently house the Arts Centre and Council Library.
Any proposals from investors will need to align with Council’s Nowra CBD Master Plan vision, objectives and principles which can be viewed on Shoalhaven City Council’s website.
An information session will be held for interested parties on Tuesday, 17 April 2012, with proposals due via a Request for Proposals process by 10:00AM Thursday, 24 May 2012. Should you wish to attend the Information Session, please contact Mandy Holmes on (02) 4429 3478 no later than noon, Tuesday, 10 April 2012.
The Request for Proposal process can be accessed by registering through Shoalhaven City Council’s Tenderlink website.
