Shoalhaven City Council is excited to announce grant funding applications for Seniors Week 2020 are now open. From the 12 to 23 February Seniors Week will be celebrating our older residents, whilst also encouraging them to live active and connected lives.
Shoalhaven City is proud to provide grant assistance of up to $300 for local community groups and organisations that are planning an event for the NSW Senior’s Week Festival. To be eligible the organisation needs to be holding an event within the Shoalhaven region and be part of the NSW Senior’s Week Festival.
Mayor Amanda Findley is encouraging local community groups and organisations to apply, “NSW Seniors Week Festival celebrates and recognises our older residents for the role they play in the community,” Mayor Findley said.
“We are thrilled to give local community groups a boost towards Seniors Week events this year, which we hope will contribute to building the Shoalhaven’s largest Seniors Festival to date.
“To further support the event, we will be creating a calendar to promote all the activities within the region. If your group would like to be included in the calendar, your activity must be free or a low cost for seniors to attend and participate in.” Clr Findley said.
Community groups and organisations are being encouraged to visit; https://shoalhaven.nsw.gov.au/My-Community/Community-funding to download the funding guidelines and the application form to apply for funding or to be included in the Calendar of Activities.
