Shoalhaven City Council is pleased to announce that next CBD Mural artwork will commence today on Bridge Road Nowra.

The murals are being funded by the Nowra CBD Revitalisation Committee and have been made possible with the help of the owners of the buildings involved and also Verb Syndicate.

Andres Von Chrzanowskis’s (a.k.a. CASE or CASE Maclaim) will be in Nowra from Friday, 22 February to Friday, 1 March  working on his creation as part of the CBD Revitalisation Strategy

Shoalhaven City Council Mayor Amanda Findley said artist Case Maclaim will begin work to transform the iconic Ison Building.

“I am incredibly proud to have internationally renowned street artist Case Mcclaim in Nowra to paint our next Mural and thank the CBD Committee for committing funding to it,” Clr Findley said.

“Maclaim’s artwork will join six other murals that have been established in partnership with the Nowra CBD Revitalisation Committee, Council, the Shoalhaven Historical Society and local building and shop owners to help rejuvenate the Nowra CBD and make it an interesting and vibrant place to visit and spend time”.

“At this stage, the final work remains a secret with a select few with knowledge of the subject however residents are encouraged to pay a visit to the Gasworks car park adjacent to the Ison Building throughout the creation.

“The murals provide a unique component to the Nowra CBD, with the murals in the laneways of Nowra are one of a kind art pieces that cannot be seen in any other town or city in the world.”

“Verb Syndicate has been instrumental in connecting the CBD Revitalisation Strategy Committee and Council with these world class muralists”

CBD Revitalisation Committee's James Caldwell said the new mural would be a great addition to Nowra.

"The Nowra Revitalisation Strategy Committee is happy to continue to help fund these significant murals by world artists in the CBD as they provide additional colour and interest and are part of making it an even greater place to visit”. Mr Caldwell said.
