Harmony Day is held on the 21 March and is a day that allows all Australians to celebrate our diverse multiculturalism. Harmony Day is about inclusiveness, respect and belonging for all Australians, regardless of cultural or linguistic background, united by a set of core Australian values.
Since 1999, more than 70,000 Harmony Day events have been held in childcare centres, schools, community groups, churches, businesses and federal, state and local government agencies across Australia.
As part of 2019 Harmony Day celebrations, Shoalhaven City Council will be publishing and promoting a Calendar of Events for activities that are being held during the week proceeding and week after Harmony Day. To be eligible for inclusion in the calendar your activity must be free or low cost for people to attend or participate in. The events calendar will be widely distributed throughout the Shoalhaven LGA. Application forms for inclusion can be found at https://www.shoalhaven.nsw.gov.au/My-Community/Community-Services/Multicultural Applications need to be in at 5 pm Monday, 4 March 2019.
