Mayor's Fundraising Appeal for Tully

Shoalhaven City Council Mayor, Amanda Findley, has opened the Mayoral Appeal for the family of the bushfire helicopter pilot, Allan “Tully” Tull.

The experienced helicopter contractor died a hero as he was helping fight the Kingiman Road Woodstock fires last week when his helicopter crashed near Woodstock while waterbombing.

At the suggestion of Jill Blackler and other members of the local community who wish to support his family, the Mayor is rallying the community to donate to the Tull family to ease the future burden and to assist with funeral costs.

If you would like to make a tribute to “Tully” you can donate via Council to

Mayor Findley said, “I encourage everyone who able to donate to this appeal. Tully was one of those gems who helped not only the Shoalhaven but other communities fight fires.  His dedication to his job which was not only dangerous but unpredictable made him an unsung hero and one our community is indebted to. So many people feel connected to Tully through his deeds and wish to express their thanks and sympathy in this way.”

“On behalf of the community, we send our sympathies to the Tull family in New Zealand.”
