Shoalhaven City Council has welcomed the announcement of funding for the Shoalhaven Family Day Care under the Federal Government’s Department of Education and Training Community Child Care Fund Grant.
The three-year funding totaling $263,725 will assist Council in operating the family day care service which continues to rate excellent National Quality Standards when audited.
The funding aims to reduce barriers to accessing child care, particularly in disadvantaged, regional and remote communities, provides sustainability support for services experiencing viability issues and provides capital assistance to increase the supply of child care places.
Shoalhaven Family Day Care is an approved home-based education and care service that has been actively supporting local families for over 35 years. Educators are qualified professionals committed to providing high quality education and care for children aged 6 weeks to 12 years in a safe home environment.
Shoalhaven Family Day Care operates with an emphasis on providing a warm, safe and secure environment where children grow and learn. Experiences offered to children are play based, inclusive and offer them opportunities to expand their thinking.
General Manager Russ Pigg said, “This funding will be of great assistance in keeping the Family Day Care Service operational in the Shoalhaven. We thank the Federal Government for their assistance.”
