Youth Week - Bring it On

Shoalhaven City Council is celebrating Youth Week on 13 - 22 April 2018.  There are several free activities during Youth Week which also falls on the school holidays that our youth can get involved in.

Youth Week aims to celebrate the valuable contribution young people make to our communities.

Some of the activities happening during the week including:

Be Heard - Mayor Amanda Findley is holding three Mayor Chats with Pizza for young people aged 13 - 20 years. Do you want to have a say in your future of youth resources in the City? Do you have an idea for your town? The Mayor would like to hear the views of young people on how we can improve the Shoalhaven for youth.  Three chats will be held at:

o   Nowra Aquatic Park – Monday 16 April at 2pm – 3pm

o   Bay & Basin Swim and Fitness Thursday 19 April at 2pm – 3pm

o   Ulladulla Aquatic Centre – Friday 20 April at 2pm – 3pm

Local celebrity Wombat as seen on The Block will also be there.

The afternoon includes free entry to the pool, pizza and a drink. Register now to attend.  RSVP to Donna Corbyn at Council on 4429 3419.

BMX Bike Workshops - Council is holding free BMX Bike Workshops for ages 8 - 18 years where you can learn new bike tricks and get a free lunch. Children under 12 years must be accompanied by an adult. All children must own and bring their own bike, wear a helmet and covered shoes.The following Workshops still have availability. Both are being held from 11 am to 12 noon on:

·       Monday 16 April at Shoalhaven Heads Skate Park

·       Wednesday 18 April at Culburra Skate Park

Bookings are essential for participation in each workshop and can be made by phoning 4429 3418.

Fit and Fun Aqua Program - Have lots of fun getting fit at the free Youth Week Fit and Fun Aqua Program that includes boxing, circuit, partner session and dance on Monday, 16th to Friday, 20th April at 12 noon at Bomaderry Aquatic Centre. For more details contact Sophie Nelson on 0437 702 450.

Other events include BBQ and Master Chef Cook-Off on Wednesday, 18th April 2018 at Ulladulla Youth Centre, a free Games Breakout session at Nowra Library on Tuesday, 17th April 2018 and a Trivia Night at the Tea Club in Nowra on Friday, 13th April 2018.

All Youth Week activities are drug and alcohol-free.
