Shoalhaven City Council has provided a $2,500 grant to the Berry Rotary Club to assist in the staging of the 2016 Berry Small Farm Field Day.
The Berry Small Farm Field Day will be held on Friday, 9th and Saturday, 10th September 2016 at the Berry Showgrounds, The weekend attracts over 4000 visitors who can explore products and services offered by 45 stallholders including veterinary services, farm machinery, stockfeed, farm contracting, weed control and small farm operation as well as talks and children’s activities.
The event features a variety of educational, demonstration and commercial opportunities for a wide sector of the community. It provides access to various programs promoting sustainability and better land care practices and a social environment for owners of rural residential properties in the Shoalhaven and nearby areas.
Shoalhaven City Council Group Director Corporate and Community Services, Craig Milburn said, “The days offer informational support and assistance to the increasingly important niche and small farm sector which provide products and employment to the community. Council is delighted to support this initiative as it is a vital part of growing our local economy and also attracts visitors from other regions.”
