The General Manager of Shoalhaven City Council, Mr Russ Pigg, is inviting all interested ratepayers to come along to one of three public meetings to hear more about key budget and planning issues including rates and projects for the coming year.
“The draft budget shows significant capital expenditure and includes major expenditure on roadworks, sewerage systems, and other major projects including:
• $3.6 million for Local Road Repair Programs
• $3.3 million for Local Road Reseal
• $1.2 million for Coolangatta Rd, Shoalhaven Heads
• $2.1 million for Waste Plant Purchases
• $182.5k for extension to chapel – cremator
• $150k for Vincentia Community Hub
• $300k for Sussex Inlet car parking
“This is a chance to hear staff present and explain the draft budget and proposed rating for 2016/17 and we are encouraging everyone to be part of this process” said Mr Pigg.
“During the exhibition period and public meetings I am hoping that residents and business owners turn up and engage in a sensible debate on projects and on the budget.”

“Our staff will also have a “rate calculator” online early next week so residents can see what the rate changes will be for their Business or Residential property.”
Draft Delivery Program & Operational Plan 2016-2017 document will be available on Council’s website, Administration buildings (Nowra and Ulladulla) as well as Council’s Libraries.
