Shoalhaven City Council will join the Nowra Cricket Club and Shoalhaven District Cricket Association in playing host to the DNSW Home Ground Cricket Tour on Tuesday 6 January 2015.
The Destination NSW Home Ground Cricket Tour is a summer celebration of cricket and community that will travel throughout New South Wales in the lead up to the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015.
Stopping at 27 towns throughout the State, the roadshow will include a travelling museum featuring items from the Bradman Museum, cricket themed activities, live cricket action from an adjoining video truck and a series of coaching clinics.
Mayor, Joanna Gash said the DNSW Cricket Tour had been designed to inspire further excitement and national pride in the lead up to the Cricket World Cup.
“Summer wouldn’t be summer without the sound of cricket balls on willow echoing across the country,” said Clr Gash.
“The Shoalhaven is no different with the vast majority of local residents having more than a passing interest in the game.
“The upcoming DNSW Home Ground Cricket Tour will provide local residents with the opportunity to view historical memorabilia and undertake coaching clinics in the lead up to the World Cup.”
“With something on offer for the entire family I would certainly encourage local residents to attend the DNSW Home Ground Cricket Tour at the Nowra Showground on Tuesday 6 January.”
