Mobile Library to undertake temporary pit stop
May 26, 2014
The Shoalhaven City Council Mobile Library will be out of service from Friday 27 June to allow the vehicle to be fitted with a new cab and chassis.
With the works expected to take approximately two weeks to complete, the Mobile Library Service will be recommencing from Monday 14 July.
Mayor, Joanna Gash said that Council was encouraging regular Mobile Library users to utilise one of Council’s static branches during the temporary break in schedule.
“Council apologises for any inconvenience caused by the upcoming unavoidable mechanical repairs being undertaken on the Mobile Library vehicle,” said Clr Gash.
“Regular borrowers are being encouraged to stock up on books prior to the truck going off the road or alternatively visit one of Council’s other libraries during the interim period.
“As well as stocking a wide array of books, DVDs and CDs, Shoalhaven City Libraries also provide a host of innovative and exciting digital library services.”
“These services include everything from e-books and magazines to language databases and genealogy tools.”
“The upcoming temporary shutdown of the Mobile Library might provide the ideal opportunity for residents to pop in and see what’s happening at their local branch.”
