World’s Best to Battle it out in Jervis Bay

More than 25 pro athletes from 12 countries, including some of the biggest names in triathlon, are preparing to battle it out at the inaugural XTERRA Asia-Pacific Championship in Callala Beach, Jervis Bay this month, April 25-27.

A host of countries will be represented by pro athletes at the Asia-Pacific Championship, including Australia, Austria, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Spain, France, United States, Philippines, Guam and New Zealand.

Shoalhaven City Council Events Manager, Ms Emire Farrar said that “The weekend events are not just for the pro field. There is something for everyone with a 5km and 10km Sunset Trail Runs, a free Kid’s Run, a Sprint event, 1.6km Ocean Swim and the Asia-Pacific Championship event open to all age-groupers with qualification spots for the XTERRA World Championships in Hawaii up for grabs.”

“We are pleased to see such a prominent event coming to the Shoalhaven and the flow on effects this event will have throughout the community from competitors and spectators staying in the area” Ms Farrar said.
