Shoalhaven City Council has reviewed its Private Functions on Public Reserves policy.
This review was instigated from community representations to Council of the impacts from weddings and associated reception's on Council reserves at Callala Bay and Hyams Beach.
To assist Council undertaking the review an independent consultant was commissioned to review the Private function on Public Reserves Policy and developed a position paper to guide the development of the draft policy.
The key issues identified during the review process were
- Size/type of functions
- Length of functions
- Location of functions
- Fees and bonds
- Need for dedicated facilities
A revised draft Private Functions on Public Reserves Policy was exhibited and the submissions from this exhibition were provided to Council at the Policy and Resources Committee meeting of 9 June 2015 and the policy was adopted by Council on 23 June 2015 MIN15.376
Further interpretation and understanding of the revised draft policy can be guided by some frequently asked questions.
