Shoalhaven Heads Community Centre Management Committee
Great thanks to Trevor Aspin, Chairperson with Shoalhaven Heads Community Centre Management Committee. For somewhere around 25 years, Trevor has been a tireless worker, and a dedicated and compassionate President at the Centre. His very grateful Committee have sent us these words in thanks for everything he does:
… the confident way Trevor has of pushing ahead ways of upgrading the Hall and on Working Bees days, he is always a confident Squad Leader.
… a compassionate and devoted President in Trevor. He is a tireless worker for the Community Centre who always puts everyone else before himself. Trevor is always coming up with ideas to save money on things that need doing or fixing in the hall. Always willing to help, no matter what the situation. A true gentleman.
… a keen and devoted President … has never lost any interest in the duties that he has carried out ... carpentry skills … whatever the task Trevor was always there showing his skills. Any problems locking up after late night hirer's you could always rely on him to go and try and resolve the problem. He is a very easy going gentleman and relates in a most kind and courteous manner with the rest of his committee. Trevor's position surely would be a most difficult one to fill and to carry out the responsibilities in the manner which he has done.
Draft Fees, Charges & Rentals
for 2016 / 2017 financial year are on Public Exhibition for a period of 44 days from Tuesday 23 March 2016.
The draft fees can be viewed during this period at http://shoalhaven.nsw.gov.au/ .
Council’s Finance Unit are hopeful to have the news Fees & Charges adopted prior to 30 June, to enable a smooth transition into the new financial year.
Annual Financial Statements
are requested to be submitted prior to 30 September 2016. The Statements should be audited prior to submission where practicable but this is not essential. Please use the new format provided last year and email to firstname.lastname@example.org
Callala Community Centre Weddings Flyer
Callala Management Committee have created a great new brochure to advertise the Centre for wedding functions.
This can be viewed/downloaded at https://shoalhaven.nsw.gov.au/My-Community/Community-facilities/Community-centres-public-halls/Callala-Community-Centre, and will be added to Shoalhaven Tourism’s webpages for marketing.
Incidents / Accidents at the Facility
Please document all incidents with an Incident Report immediately or as soon as practicable. Incident Report forms can be obtained from Council. Contact Council’s WHS Officer or your Liaison Officer.
OUT OF ORDER stickers should be available for use by members of the public when using the hall. This enables any item of furniture/appliance that is identified as faulty, to be immediately identified and removed from use.
Audit & Assess Equipment
All equipment available for use at the facility should be checked regularly for strength and integrity. Council WHS officers recommend all chairs and tables be checked quarterly.
Please be mindful to keep Fire Exits clear and unobstructed - 1.1m in every direction.
Huskisson Remedial Works
Huskisson has been long overdue for an overhaul of its back-yard stormwater management. After many storm events, flooding clean-ups and crisis management calls, a new retaining wall and storm water pipes were installed early this year.
Council is very grateful to the Huskisson Community Centre Management Committee who have been dedicated in their service to the community, and responded “above and beyond” over these previous years.
Managing Party Functions
Police must be advised of any party or function held at the venue.
A safe party form must be completed by the hirer, at http://www.mynite.com.au/
Click on ‘party sign up’ at top of page to fill out & lodge the form online (request hirers forward advice of this lodgement to the Booking Officer).
