Bins on parks & public land (not residental) are serviced and maintained by Council's Parks and Facilities Department. These bins are for general use for the public and not for household waste.

The dumping, storage or placing of household waste material can attract penalty notices from $750 to $1500 for an individual or $1500 to $5000 for a company.

Please make sure your garbage bin is put out on the kerb the night before collection is due. Bins must be at least 1 metre from other bins, parked cars, trees, power poles and street signs.

Garbage collection remains the same even on public holidays.
Bins placed on the kerbside after the truck has serviced the street will not be collected. However, if your bins have been missed for other reasons, please contact Suez, Council's contractor, on 1800 441 341 or 02 4474 8100.
All bin repairs are repaired by Council's contractor Suez at no cost.

Stolen bins will be replaced free of charge. A statutory declaration must be completed and forwarded to Council's contractor Suez.

Different garbage bin sizes are available depending on your needs and the cost will be shown on your rates notice. They are:
- 80 litre - $298 per year
- 120 litre - $395 per year
- 240 litre - $699 per year
Each bin service is accompanied by a yellow-lid 240 litre recycle bin.
Only the property owner can change the size of the bin and an amended Rate Notice will be forwarded to them with details of the new rate instalments.
To increase the size of the bin, a $38.50 administration fee must first be paid.
Any request made for the start of a new waste & recycling service must be made by the owner of the property. Once a bin size has been selected, Council will then instruct Suez, Council’s waste and recycling contractor, to organise the delivery of the bins within 5 working days.
Once this is done, the charge is allocated against the property rates notice.
