Shoalhaven City Council is pleased to announce applications for the 2021/22 Sports Grants Program are now open. Sporting groups can apply for the funding to carry out capital works projects at their nominated sporting facility.
Eligible sporting groups can apply for $2 of Council funding for every $1 contributed by the applicant.
Jane Lewis, Director of City Services at Shoalhaven City Council encouraged sporting groups to apply for the program.
“The Sports Grants Program provides a great opportunity for sporting groups to obtain assets or make improvements to their sporting facility, which may be unattainable without additional financial support.
“Recent projects that received funding under the Sports Grant Program by local sporting organisations include a sub-surface drainage system installation at Ison Park field 1 for the Shoalhaven District Football Association, electricity connection to the Berry Equestrian Centre of Excellence for the Berry Riding Club and the construction of new practice batting cage for the Shoalhaven Mariners Baseball Association at South Nowra, all which benefit our current and future local athletes.” Ms Lewis said.
A previous recipient of the grant, Shoalhaven Pony Club, utilised the funding for horse jumping equipment; Vice President of the Club, Christine Kettlewell, stated:
“Thank you for supporting our Club & helping to ensure a strong future for our equestrian sports”.
