• 4660 square kilometres (stretching from Broughton - just north of Berry, southwards to North Durras - just north of Batemans Bay) and comprising 49 towns and villages. An estimated 1,000km of coastline when all bays and inlets are considered.

Environment
 

• Major areas of Shoalhaven are NSW Forests, National Parks, or NSW Crown Lands (3,000+ sq km) representing 64% of the total Shoalhaven area. Jervis Bay is a major natural resource and tourist attraction.
• The Shoalhaven River is a major natural supply resource to Shoalhaven Water and the Sydney Water Board.

Commercial Land

Leasing rates within the central business districts of Nowra and Ulladulla- office space $150 - $250/m² pa for office space and $250-$500/m² pa for retail; and up to $170/m² for bulky goods.

Transport

Linkages
 

• Rail - Illawarra line terminates at Bomaderry from Sydney/ Wollongong with 14 passenger services to Sydney daily.
• Road - Princes Highway runs north-south through Shoalhaven. Links with the west run via Kangaroo Valley, Wollongong or Batemans Bay.
• Air - HMAS Albatross, a military airfield, is open to civil traffic, however, no regular commuter services operate.
• Coach - Daily interstate services operate through Nowra to Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra.
• There are 8 private bus and coach operators within the City.
