Warden Head & North Head, Ulladulla
Three easy grade tracks have been developed around Warden Head and North Head at Ulladulla. All the tracks have been developed in conjunction with the local Aboriginal community, and incorporate local art as an educational tool. Guided tours can be booked through Budamurra Aboriginal Corporation on (02) 4455 5883, who also manage a local gallery and Aboriginal dance troupe.

If you wish to go wanderingly on these tracks without a guide
parking for the Coomee Nulunga Cultural Track is provided on the right hand side of Deering Street, opposite Lighthouse Oval. Walk through the legs of the Corroboree Man and onto a track developed and maintained by the Aboriginal community. Follow the totems along the trail (which takes approximately one and a half hours) to gain an insight into the flora and fauna representative of the Ulladulla district. Beach access is available from the track.

Track two, "Snake Ground" is a much shorter track which has only recently been completed. This track follows the headland from a trackhead at the lighthouse and terminates in a BBQ and picnic area.

The North Head track will be a wheelchair accessible loop of approximately 1km, once completed. The track will incorporate viewing platforms and interpretive signage, as well as shelter sheds and seating.

Kioloa & Bawley Point foreshore reserves
Towards the southern end of the Shoalhaven are Kioloa and Bawley Point, two very popular holiday destinations. The foreshore here is dotted with rocky outcrops, and the sand is a rich yellow compared to the stark whiteness of the sand of the Jervis Bay beaches. The coast between these two villages makes a great place to explore - from the beaches, to the rock pools, maintained parks and walking tracks - there is something for everyone.

The Kioloa Coastal Patrol is located in a particularly pretty foreshore park at the end of Scerri Drive in Kioloa. Council aims to integrate various community activities into public spaces and this is an example of how such integration benefits the community through shared resources, support of volunteers and increased awareness of important community services.

The Basin Walking Track
This tranquil walk along the foreshore of St George's Basin (Paradise Beach to Palm Beach) is a popular short walk. The walk takes about 40 minutes each way, though there are plenty of places on the way to divert your attention for an hour or two. The beaches along the Basin Walk are popular spots for swimming and fishing, or if you're lucky enough to have a boat there is access for sailing and water skiing .

There are three track heads for the Basin Walk. Greville Avenue leads to access points at Palm Beach Reserve or Macleans Point, whilst Walmer Avenue provides access to Paradise Beach Reserve. Both reserves have carparking, picnic and toilet facilities.

The Grotto, North Nowra
On the banks of the Shoalhaven River in North Nowra (access from Yurunga Drive) is The Grotto. Whilst access to The Grotto is steep in parts, the walk is short and the ambience of the reserve more than makes up for any effort expended. Take a picnic and spend some time watching the beautiful Shoalhaven River, from a superb vantage point.

Currently the site of bush regeneration and track improvement work by volunteer groups, The Grotto is the subject of one of Council's many community development initiatives. If you would like to know more about getting involved in this, or any other bushcare project, call Council on (02) 4429 3111.

Bowerbird Walk, Cunjarong Point
Just off Ottawa Street at Cunjarong Point is an area of Crown Reserve which forms the track head of Bowerbird Walk. Take the track at the right of the reserve entrance for a five minute stroll to an elevated lookout. From here, you can see across the rock shelf to Green Island. The crystal clear water where Berringer Lake meets the ocean is a popular playground for dolphins - so keep a close watch on the water.

To gain access to the popular surfing beach, head back to the reserve and follow the boardwalk for a few hundred metres. As you wander down this track, listen to the sound of the waves crashing against the sand and rocks right around the island.

Parking and toilet facilities are available at the reserve.

Markets at Berry Showground
Berry is a very popular short break destination for people from Sydney and surrounds, and is famous for it's many shops and eateries, its proximity to award winning vineyards and its relaxed country atmosphere. Berry offers a variety of accommodation, details of which are available from the Council's Nowra Visitor Information Centre on (02) 4429 3414.

Both locals and tourists delight in the Berry Country Fair held on the first Sunday of every month at the Berry Showground, Alexandra Street. It's easy to spend a couple of hours wandering amongst the many stalls selling a variety of goods from antiques to plants and local handcrafts, from photographic prints to homemade cakes and jams. Entertainment for young and old is also provided usually in the way of music and amusement rides. Buy lunch from one of the many food stands and settle down to soak up the atmosphere of this thriving local market.
