What our library can offer you Services vary from branch to branch
Reservations & Interlibrary Loans Want to read that book you saw reviewed last week but somebody else has borrowed it? Put a reservation in it. Ask at the front desk. What about that hard-to-find text for your next assignment that is not in our collection? We can probably find it through our interlibrary loan service. Ask our reference staff.
The Internet Register for an e-mail account Research your family history Browse the Internet Become informed about the Shoalhaven community. Use of the Internet is free. A small charge is applied to email and printouts. Word Processing Do you need to update your resume or type a business letter? Buy a disk at the library or bring your own and you can use our word processing facilities for a small fee. Photocopying We offer photocopying facilities, including A3 and A4 sized paper and colour. Ask our staff about this service.
Community Services Index The index lists over 1300 community organisations in the local area, covering children's services, health, sporting organisations, clubs, etc. Check the Internet at www.shoalhaven.nsw.gov.au or through our Online Public Catalogue - just click on the community index button.
Home Library Service Unable to visit the library? We offer a bulk loan service delivered to your door for a period of up to 3 months. Contact the library to ask about eligibility for this service.
Genealogical Research and Local Studies Researching your family history or the local area? Visit our Local Studies Room. We have a range of microfiche, film and CD-ROMS from the State Records as well as Internet access. Please ask our Local Studies staff.
Public Meeting Room Are you a local community group or non profit organisation? Book our meeting room. Facilities available include an overhead projector, TV and video. Contact the Library to enquire about our rates.
Display Cabinets and Boards Two large glass display cabinets and a number of display boards are available for use by community groups at the Nowra Branch.
Toy Library Toy Libraries are available at the Nowra and Milton Branches. A large range of educational toys, suitable for children from babies to six years of age are available. A joining fee allows you to borrow two toys per child per month. Conditions and rates differ for institutions.
