It is with some regret that I relinquish the Privet Control Officers position in order to take on another role closer to home. The past 16 months has been a very productive time where I have had the good fortune of working with more than 100 landowners and volunteers who have embraced the Privet Control Strategy. The individuals and groups who have taken the opportunity to get involved are to be credited with the success of the project.

During our time together I have demonstrated the various techniques in the arsenal of the Bush Regenerator and feel confident that these combined with the correct tools and the correct approach will remain the most effective method for treating woody weeds such as Privet whilst allowing the landscape to recover.

The Shoalhaven is blessed with awe-inspiring biodiversity, a wonderland for nature lovers and bushwalkers. With this comes a great responsibility to care for and minimise degrading influences. It is my hope that the people of Shoalhaven can demonstrate to other council areas that through a collaborative effort, many environmental problems can be overcome and creative solutions found to achieve sustainability in a practical sense. Keep up the good work!
