Actions undertaken:

 

-Nature Conservation

Revegetation of creek line along the caravan park boundary and formalised creek access was completed in 2004.

Walton Way Reserve rehabilitation to be undertaken in 2006 including weed management, revegetation, landscape upgrades and stormwater control improvements

-Water Quality

Water quality monitoring

Septic tanks inspected. Education of residents and ratepayers on septic tank management undertaken.

Reticulated sewerage design completed and construction funding sought

-Erosion and Sedimentation

Stream line revegetation improvement projects contribute to bank stability. Coastal Erosion issue – refer Coastal Processes section below.

-Cultural Heritage

 

-Flooding

Ocean Inundation risk being addressed in Coastal Management Planning project.

-Coastal Processes

Coastal erosion study completed August 2003. Review of management options will be ongoing within the Coastal Management Committee during 2006.

-Recreation, Waterway Access & Boating

$100,000 Funding sought by Fishing Club to investigate upgraded boat ramp location and design successful in 2006

-Visual Quality

Very Good 

-Estuary Entrance

Entrance Policy in draft and publicly exhibited in August 2006. Extensive community consultation undertaken during preparation of the draft plan.

Task Force:

Task Force disbanded with community representatives integrated into Coastal Committee in 2005

Coastal Committee:

Biannually with additional meetings on a as needs basis.
