Table 50 - Environmental Objectives

Overview

Achievements

Environmental flow determined by EIS in 1998.

Adoption of Drought Management Plan for water abstraction system.

Previous communication with Sydney Catchment Authority.

Measurement and management of environmental flows from Danjera Dam and flood flows at the Dam.

2006 Drought

Low inflows enacted the Drought Management Plan and water restrictions applied across the city for approximately two months.During May releases from Danjera Dam, allowed pumping at Burrier

Table 50a - Environmental Objectives (Targets)

Objective

Target

Maintain Environmental Flow objectives

Monitor weather, inflows, consumption and maintain dialog with Sydney Catchment Authority for compliance with the Environmental Flow regime and efficient use of water resource.

Review Environmental Flow/ Extraction Regime

Work in partnership with the State Government in understanding economic, environmental, social and engineering studies into proposed environmental flow and extraction regime proposed for water supply to Sydney.
