Council has prepared a new Local Environmental Plan (LEP) in accordance with the NSW Standard LEP Instrument and requirements set by the NSW Department of Planning & Infrastructure (DP&I). Information on the Standard LEP Instrument (new window) process is available on the DP&I website. The new LEP will control development through land zonings and other planning provisions, and guide planning decisions made by Council. It also incorporates the strategic direction outlined in the Nowra Bomaderry Structure Plan and other strategic plans.  The new LEP will eventually replace the existing Shoalhaven LEP 1985.

The draft LEP exhibition period finished on the 14/10/2011, the draft LEP can still be view for information at slep2009.shoalhaven.nsw.gov.au.
