Seniors

Overview

Seniors are an important part of our Shoalhaven community and we work to improve the quality of life for our seniors by providing access to services and support networks and encourage them to remain active.

NSW Seniors Festival

The NSW Seniors Festival celebrates the role and contributions of older adults to our local communities. It's the largest of its kind in the southern hemisphere, with over 500,000 people attending each year.

The Seniors Festival includes hundreds of events across NSW including art classes, fitness and live music. Most are free or low cost to attend. There's also online events, so people at home, or in aged care can enjoy it 'live'.

The NSW Seniors Festival for 2024 will run from 11-24 March, and the theme is 'Reach Beyond!'.

Inclusion & Access Advisory Group

The Inclusion & Access Advisory group identifies the needs of the different disability groups in the local government area.

It also works to increase public awareness of access barriers and the extent to which they disadvantage people with disabilities, the aged and parents with children etc.
