Bay and Basin Community Hub Masterplan
Council staff and consultants are currently in the process of developing a master plan for the existing Bay and Basin Leisure Centre precinct. Council has identified the need for improved community infrastructure within the Bay and Basin area so as to meet the growing community’s needs into the future.
In addition to meeting existing user needs, the master plan aims to incorporate additional community facilities within the redevelopment to create the “Bay and Basin Community Hub.”
The vision is to expand the facilities within the Bay and Basin Leisure Centre precinct to become a multi-use, vibrant Community Hub, broadening the scope of the existing sporting, community and leisure-focused facilities. The Bay & Basin Community Hub Master Plan will consider community meeting places, a regional skate park, netball courts, crèche, extension to the existing gymnasium, exhibition spaces, maintain the existing pool facilities and feature a library at the heart of the development.
Once a masterplan has been developed in collaboration with Council and key stakeholder feedback, the document will be placed on public exhibition and the opportunity for the broader community to provide comments will be scheduled.
This project is currently in the Analysis and Briefing stage and Council and Group GSA are seeking community feedback.
